Six steps, paced to the weather.
Cedar work in Lane County is a calendar as much as a craft. We do not rush a stain onto damp boards because a Saturday opened up.

Walkthrough
We come look at the house. We talk about what the cedar is doing — gray, tired, peeling, or just due — not only what color you have in mind.

Honest scope
What is sound, what is tired, and what a finish can and cannot fix. If something is out of our work, we say so before anyone picks up a brush.

Weather window
Stain and oil need dry days. In Lane County that usually means late spring through early fall. We schedule around the rain, not through it.

Wash and prep
A gentle wash. Failed finish comes off. We do not blast the grain into fuzz. The boards have to be ready to take oil, not just look wet and clean for an hour.

Stain or oil
Penetrating finish, worked in, not filmed over. We choose a color and sheen you can live with as it weathers — cedar should still look like cedar.

Seal and aftercare
Where the house needs a sealer, we apply it. You leave with a simple plan for the next coat, years out, written in plain language.
